Dr. Michael Lebow Professional Experience

In 2008-2012, Dr. Lebow was the founding Medical Director of endovascular surgery at Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he helped bring modern endovascular surgery to North Georgia. He then spent 10 years with University Surgical Vascular, a private practice in Athens, Georgia.

A central tenet of Dr. Lebow’s philosophy is to prevent the need for hospitalization through early detection, medical management, and lifestyle modification.  When vasculopathy is severe Dr. Lebow utilizes advanced office-based endovascular techniques to treat his patients and keep them out of the hospital. Whether he is treating varicose veins or a limb-threatening condition Dr. Lebow utilizes the most up-to-date techniques to obtain the best results possible.

In 2024, Dr. Lebow opened Athens Vein and Vascular in Athens, Georgia.  AVV is a unique vascular surgery practice that sub-specializes in the treatment of lower extremity vascular conditions. This focus on a specific subset of vascular problems enables Dr. Lebow to stay at the forefront of care for lower extremity venous and arterial disease.  "For the past 15 years, my primary interest has been in treating patients with lower extremity vascular problems such as chronic limb ischemia and varicose veins, and now I am committing 100% of my efforts to those patients. By narrowing my focus I will be able to really stay up-to-date on the most effective treatment options and be sure that I am providing my patients the absolutely best quality of care possible", Michael Lebow MD.
